Title: Clock recovery Techniques

Eric Naviasky, Cadence, USA

The recovery of timing information from a data stream is required in most communication systems wired, wireless, and optical. The multiple methods used since the early days of communication systems will be discussed and the pros and cons of the techniques will be explained with respect to jitter tolerance, coding overhead and design effort. Modern techniques using PLLs, and Phase interpolators will be presented with their traditional and advance control loops.
