ISCAS 2017 announces the availability of Student Travel Awards. The Student Travel Awards will be used to fund expenses associated with ISCAS’17 conference attendance. These expenses may include, but are not limited to, registration, transportation, and hotel accommodation. The exact amount of the awards will depend on the estimated expenses and demonstrated/perceived needs of the recipient, up to a maximum of $1000 per awardee.
We anticipate $15K in funds to be available for applicants from Canada, Europe, Asia, and Latin America (R7-10), and $30K in funds to be available for applicants from the US (R1-6) thanks to generous support from the US National Science Foundation.
Eligibility and Selection: Any student who has an oral paper, poster, or demonstration accepted at the ISCAS 2017 conference and/or advisor support will be eligible to receive the award. The application consists of 1) completed Student Travel Award Request form (indicating demographic information, academic program information, GPA, statement of circuits and systems activities and interests, estimated travel costs and availability of other support) and 2) letter of support from the advisor. Selection will be made on the basis of advisor support, CASS involvement, relevance and significance of research activities, and past academic performance. Preference will be given to students that have accepted papers and plan to present the paper at the conference, and special effort will be paid to ensure full participation of our diverse community. If funds are still available, we will offer travel support to other qualified students (i.e., those without accepted papers) until funds are depleted.
Schedule: Applications will be accepted until funds are fully allocated, with preference given to applications which are received by February 10, 2017. Awardees will be notified as soon as possible thereafter. Awards will be made at ISCAS 2017.
